Hand in Hand.

5 weeks ago, we discovered that Mason had a very independent refusal to hold my hand..anywhere..anytime. Now, you may be thinking, "what is the big deal about that?" Imagine this: you are in a busy, public place, your toddler wants out of his stroller because he can now walk. Yet, you cannot allow this because as you guide him with your hand, he throws himself back on the floor and cries. I didn't want to put a kid-leash on him. Fortunately, Mason does unusually well in his stroller, but I knew this was something we had to work on as he becomes more and more mobile. After 5 weeks of 'slowly' praising him for holding my hand (when holding him)..today...he did it! All morning long, he graciously followed me around the house with a precious little hand in mine. Thank goodness!
